Hoo boy, do I know where you are coming from. Not that this will help you much but we had the same problem last year with both of our 2188s. We would go 50 ft and then have to cut the straw off, we even had a fire start on the one side by the bearing. We tried it straight, then swathed and had no luck either way. The augers under the rotor looked like sausages, they were packed solid all the way back to where the paddles are! I have heard since that too much nitrogen causes this nightmare, we eventually let some NH conventionals have a go at it and they did get the job done, although this year we straight combined spring wheat in the same field and the volunteer flax was unreal, we did get through it though. Good luck!
