Farmer, The 6 straight bars may have been taken out to reduce the chance of chewing up the small grain straw too much. I have taken out the bars you are talking about so I can bale the straw for livestock. Since you are harvesting corn and beans I would suggest you locate or purchase those bars as you will need them for a good thresh of your crops. Have a good harvest.

I have run without those 6 for many years in oats, soybeans and corn.Someone said that replacement from CaseIh dosen't have them on .Some manuels say to take out for tough soybeans.I think they want them on for tough threshing wheat.

Farmer, you do not need the first 6 bars on the rotor for corn and soybeans, in fact if you ordered a new corn combine with standard rotor it would have the bars missing. It works alot better in green stem beans and corn without the bars, don't worry about the supports wearing.

If you ever decide to use them bars in there again I would check to see how bad the mounts are worn. My 1460 had a bar missing when I bought it causing the rotor to go way out of balance. When installing a new bar I noticed the mount was worn but still there. After running about 20 acres in wheat I stopped and checked it. The mount had just cracked and was about to let the bar go so I got back in there and rebuilt the mount with a mig welder (not easy with the rotor in). If you ever decide to use them and they're worn bad I'd pull the rotor and have them rebuilt, otherwise if one of them bars breaks loose it could cause some ugly damage.
