Combines N series mods for no till

I will tell you a little about my experience. I have a 84 N7 with dual spreader, chaff spreader and chopper. I have recently converted to notill and getting the straw chopped and spread is a challenge. Everyones conditions vary, here in nothern ND our spring wheat varities are being bred with more straw strength all the time. And on a day without sun and a little humidity even with a factory chopper it looks like you have an impellar in. This year I installed a set of Clinton Ags stationary knives wich helped, but I would still would like a finer cut so next year I will install a Rodono chopper inplace of my factory. It has double swinging hammers that are sharpened and much heavier than the factory. So I guess it depends on your harvest conditions. If you normally have dry straw a factory chopper will do very well. I hope I didnt confuse you to much but going notill makes us look at things a little closer. like they say the combine is the last pass between you and next years crop or something like that. If you would like some info on the rodono chopper let me know.

I would be interested in what brand of chaff spreader you use and how you like itIJ Also is your spreader a factory unit or something you came up withIJ I farm in N. Central Okla. so a lot of the time our wheat straw is pretty dry. I think a factory chopper would work here but I would like to see some info on the Rodono chopper as well. If you have any pictures of your setup or other comments I would appreciate them. Thanks John
