Combines N5 for sale

I wouldn't say so Russ. But you might consider keeping that corn head and trading up to a 6-30" planter. We resisted for several years when the big change came to this area because of the cost involved but if you can get that head with the combine that reasonably, I would seriously think about it. We have fields much like what you have and we get around ok with a 6-30 planter. Tom langan PS: Great article in Successful Farming. If I can get $160_ton for alfalfa hay out there, I'm going to sell the cows and ship my hay your way! Good dairy quality hay is selling for $80_ton around here right now. Too many good crop years in a row has created a bit of a surplus.

Broker is selling "western alfalfa" picked up at his dock for $165_ton. I am selling average plus grass delivered for much less. Over supply. I am giving major thought to buying N5, then swapping planters for next year. I can shell this year with my smaller machine. I only plan to trade one of the 2, most likely the K2. Other option is finding a 4-38" head for N5 for some custom work. This area has not changed to 30's yet. PS Mike H is super fellow.

Good buyIJ Thats a steal unless the N5 has had the daylights run out of it or it has seen a zillion acres. Prices for big machines in your area must be quite a bit different than we see around here. Tom in MN

The factory updated all early N-series machines to a 1984 level if I remember correctly. You might want to verify this was done on the machine you are looking at. Tom in MN

Did I hear some on say wide rowsIJ I thought we were the only one still doing wide rows ( 40") Actually we have 40", 38", 36",30" 20" and 15" inch rows in our area.. There should have been a law passed along time ago that "said all row will be xx" apart." Sure would make it easier on all us dealers... Every time Dad wants to rent a tractor to sombody he tells me when and where to deliver it, then I ask where do wheels need to set.. and of course 9 times out of ten they gotta be moved. And then ther is guy that wants to rent a combine to cut corn and we gotta sceramble to find a 30" head or what every row width he thinks is best......... a law would have been easier.

You're not the only one. Here in OZ a lot of the row crops are 1 metre or 40inch (a metre is 39-6 inches) because that is what the cotton is planted in but some farmers plant 8 rows, some 6,some 12 and the guess rows can be wild guesses!I once had a guy ring me up and ask me to harvest his corn,i was told it was 36" so i shifted the combine 50 miles to the job to find out that it was 30" rows. The farmer then said 30"is close to 36" so i shouldn't have a problem with the corn front. john

Just saw a beautiful N7 with RWD, 8R30" Head and 20' Flex Platform for $6300. Had only 1300 hours on it. Illinois combine.

I would appreciate if you would email the specifics on some of the bargains in your area. I will send a truck to pick up anything that has straight sheet metal and doesnt look like it has been through a war.
