Willis, Yes,the cage door behind the concave is welded in and it is the same part n.Price the chrome door if you plan to keep the machine for awhile. This door gets alot of wear and tear with all the materail going across it.If I remember right,AGCO will send the small pieces of reinforcements to weld back in.If they don't,keystock will work fine also.I would also replace the 3_8" thick bar on the bottom of this cage door next to concave. You can make this out of flat iron. Good luck, Hyper Harvest II

When we provide this door, we weld a new cross member to the it. When the old door is removed, only the welds at the ends of the old cross member need to be cut. It's much quicker and easier than trying to separate the door from the cross member. (800) 549-3289

thanks for the followups guys, will pull the cage out this afternoon with the help of my wife and start to tear and switch. Is a N5 cage i am going to change the blanked off parts and put in open doors off my N6, just needed advice on how to weld that one door back in. Am sure will be self explanatory once i get in to it. Thanks again . Willis Kinder Bliss, Idaho.

Also check with loewen, as they make cages, black or chrome, along with some options. They can supply you with doors with the larger holes like the later combines came out with, or even with a complete updated cage that is made similar to the later models, and you can then get rid of your cage sweep, just like the later models. The updated version helps to eliminate all that straw buildup caused by the doors you now have in it. They have other good updates also for Gleaner combines.
