I guess I would check the wiring at the sender unit first to see if there is a bad connection. With someone in the cab I would wiggle the connections to see if the level indication changed. I am not sure how you would go about checking the sender unit itself for acuracy. Next, I would run a continuity test on the wiring to see if I had a broken wire. Brag on my man on your old N6! I am amazed at the capacity of these old girls, especially if they have been hyperized to eliminate rotor constipation. Pete Hinrichsen
