It sure sounds like your fuel could be the problem. Do you buy premium fuel or the el-cheapo stuff that always seems to cause problemsIJ Several years ago, we got a letter from the Cat dealer suggesting Amoco Premier to reduce fuel related problems. Others have said Cenex premium fuel is also good but I dont recall the brand name they use. Is your bulk tank full of crudIJ Do you have a filter between the bulk tank and your combineIJ Have you ever forgotten to replace the fuel tank filler cap after filling the tankIJ It is amazing how quickly dirt can get into a tank when the cap isnt installed. Good luck!

Electric fuel pump could be bad too causing trouble, but IF you are still able to reach your normal high turbo boost number (say 24 lbs for example) and power seems good, then I might think the sensor is defective. This is apparently an 81 model or older and it should have had the new and improved fuel tank outlet nipple installed years ago. This was a brass fitting that screwed into the tank outlet hole and had a standpipe about 2 inches long so you didn't draw all the crud off the bottom of the tank causing problems. IF it has this standpipe in it, you may want to lean to the left a bit and remove it to clean out the tank bottom and then reinstall it. Running with a fuel restriction (if lite is right) WIll cause an injection pump failure of the Roosa-Master style.

G"day Pete When we had our N7 R.O.M. had a piece of rag rubber banded over the filler cap to stop the fuel air breather clogging up with crud! does it suck air when you take filler cap offIJ and on the R Series the fuel tank air breather is the in the grain box just to the left of the window at rear of cab! I usely blow it our every year. It seems to help! Rolf

Pete, Happy New Year !!!!!!!! The answer to your question about a suction screen in your lift pump. Yes,there is a small brass screen if you take your electric lift pump off, stand it up with motor on bottom and remove the 5 or 6 slotted head screws and carefully remove lid.You will see the screen and it will probably be full of crud.Clean it and reinstall cover. Also,if you can get the fuel tank low enough, prior to 84' combines there was no standpipe in fuel tank and it may be time to install one. AGCO has a part number for this item. Hope this helps, Hyper Harvest II

Have a good look at your screens and sediment bowl, if you have one. Check to see whether or not there is a slimelike, clear, snotty coating of any sort. If that is present, you have a bacteria build up in your fuel tanks at some point. There are commercial additives that can take care of that problem. I ran into that a couple of years ago and have since used the required additive, no problem since.
