If I remember right the throats didn't get a major change until 1998.You could get a adaptor to bolt in grainhead to fit older throats but it is usually hard to find a used one and cost prohibitve going new. We have changed several early style short throats to the longer 82' and up to R60 long throats. So a grainhead from a 97' or prior machine should fit the longer thraot. Have paid $500 for one from salvage yard. Some will be bare throat and some will be complete for this price. If throat is bare you will have to lengthen feeder chain and you will need drive belts for both sides. Yes, you can bolt pump and drive from older header to run reel. I don't believe a R62 throat will fit a N6 without some modification (Haven't tried this yet.). Hopefully this helps answer your question, Hyper Harvest II
