Combines N6 Manifold

Your problems are normal and almost impossible to fix. First, the high horsepower causes extra heat and the N6,7080,7580 were prone due to higher rpm as well to cause vibration. Now cool a very hot(sometimes glowing after dark)and give it vibration as well, and cracks occur. Plus the center section has 4 cylinders of heat going through it, whereas the front and rear only have 2 cylinders of heat to deal with.

I would agree with your analogy but it still doesn't explain why some break and some don't. Seems to be tied to engine qurk. I have sucessfully used a 'fix' for this. The break will seal up during power so we obtain some near asbestoes type muffler wrap seal from the auto parts stores and wrap a THIN wrap around the break, then cover it with one of the heat shields from a 190XT oil cooler then secure it with three hose clamps. Turn the screws to the inside, cut off excess clamp length and it looks almost factory and so far hasn't leaked. Quick too,.

Often times this can be prevented. most often when they continue to break i find a couple problems. they often gaul and stick at the joint between the end pieces. this is a slip fit. it needs to be made to slip loosly. care also needs to be given when assmbling so pieces dont bind at joint. the metalic seal will tke care of sealing the joint. also note that if only the center is replaced and older style ends are used it takes two seals per side. replace the exhaust hard ware any time you work on this assmbly and be sure to tourqu them evenly. try this and see if it helps. good luck.........

Allow engine to warm up before reving and or putting to work. Allow engine to cool down a few minutes before shuting down. Certain operations break manifolds all the time and others never loose one. Got to be related somewhat to the operators.
