Pete, Check Ind. bulliton 366 at your dealer dated 9-12-83 to see the helicals you need to remove from belly of sep. side. I don't think you will need the angle iron flow retarder or perforated discharge floor that they mention in that bulliton. That bulliton deals with the flat iron helicals not the channel helicals of the so called bean kit. The channel helicals of the so called bean kit leaves the belly of sep. with no helicals for about the same area that would have the sep. grate if installed. The bean kit does supply flat irons that can be fastened to belly if needed but I would never use them. The bean kit also supplies a angle iron flow retarder but I would not use that either. I would be reluctant to fasten anything on the belly of sep. side in corn for I would be afraid of it busting the cage open. I'm betting you have the flat iron helicals and not double stacked or shimmed so I think you should remove helicals like in bulliton and if that isn't enough remove one more row. Don't remove more than needed. If you removed two rows it would be getting close to the same area of what the sep. grate would be if installed. There are corn doors available that have 1"X1 1_4" holes but that will cost you a few bucks. I have heard of heating and bending a couple helicals straight fore and aft to hold up material also but doubt you need to monkey with that either. let us know if removeing a few helicals don't do the trick for you. I would call your yeild and moisture in the medium range and you should need to do anything more than remove some helicals. Remember I say I would not fasten anything extra on sep. side of P1 for corn and I am unsure of P3. Good luck and let us know how good you got it. Dan

Pete, I would remove all four and give it a try. If that ain't enough remove four more behind them. If just four takes care of it you could put a couple back in. Good luck. Dan

In my experience, I would up your cylinder speed to at least 600 rpm. You might be able to increase your cylinder clearance to 5_8 then -

Might want to check cylinder bars and concave for excess wear. Has it had any stage of hyperizing doneIJ Stacked or channel helicals will flow material much better which gives better seperation. Nice setup of helicals at least on thresher side will get material moving and help prevent plug from coming around and poping trap door. Per your post up higher it is hard to say what trap door latch you have. Hopefully it has been updated to stationary cross member for door to latch on. It would surely have roller detent system for latch and door does not pivot with concave which allows setting of latch to stay constant threwout various concave settings. Good luck
