This past year my son-in-law broke both spindles on his N5. He noticed the new ones were welded differently and has been told by a reliable source that the new spindles are much better; the heat treating is different and the welding is better. Maybe this will be reassuring. On the second one, I helped him get the axle out of the mud and it wasn't an easy job.
