Combines N6 to N7IJ

You certainly have hit on the major components you would have to change. Getting the rest should be easy and you can do it if and when you get around to it. Buying a complete N7 is a good idea if you have time and a place to put it but it wouldnt be necessary. The miscellaneous little parts would be available in most salvage yards. When you look at the cost of a new machine you can justify spending a ton on your N6 and still come out ahead. let us know what you do. Tom in MN

Tom, this also depends on the age of the N6 that he is speaking of. The Pre-Series 3 I would have a hard time spending much money on. There were alot of updates and problems with the pre-1982(Series 3) machine. As of the Series 3, there are few differences between them and an R5_6_7. The early N's had the same stigma as the AC 190XT, the Series 3 XT and a 200 are almost identical, name change to get rid of the bad stigma, N to R. Also needs to make sure that the N6 has the heavier Hydro for the power of the 685 engine, some had the smaller hydro of the N5. Again according to my shop manual the Series 3 had the heavier Hydro(bigger). And if he gets into the small hydro, I'm not sure what would happen with the finals as the smaller Hydro had the smaller finals.
