I have never ran an N series but i would sat that it would not handle a 12 row head. They would not have enough rear weight to pick one up would be my best estimate. My l2 will hardly pick up an 8 row row head. Good luck Brent
I have seen pictures of N6's with 12 rows of corn and seen one running on a video b4 too, I know that u have the capicty and i see no reason way you couldnt pick it up but then again we only had a 24 foot header on our N6 but it could of handle alot more.
1 run a 12 row head on my 72 and a 42 foot head on it as well. When we had our n7 we ran 12row and 42 foot head on them no problem. so you should be able too. Colin
It was unreal how much our N6 would cut but I guess it just ran so fast it shook itself apart, it was only a good machine for about 3 years and then it was a piece, How many bu. an hour could u push through your N7 with the 12 rowIJ
whats the spacing on rows, how much mantanice, what is the price for a head, adapter required i'm assuming, I have a n7 its a little lite with 27 foot head all the way up, but will should handle it fine, remember n series come out with a 12 row corn head, scott
I had a 12-30 inch spacing. There are chains under row sheets to oil_maintain, and the cutting unit is a rotating set of knives that shear over a stationary shear bar. The clearance of that knife assembly is important. After an hour or more of running, it is ideal that the lower hub be slightly warm to the touch, indicating that the knives are up to the stationary shear bar. Tighten cool ones to set right.
