Combines N7 Seperator Problem

Check and replace your hydraulic filter first. You're getting a flow problem or air in the system from foaming. The filter is the first place to look! Oil heating too much will cause this, cooler oil gives the power back. Something is plugged or partially so somewhere!

Sounds like there might be a short in your electrical system.

I don't own a N7 to know exactly how they work but if it has an electrical clutch like the M and l series then it is strickly a shorted wire. I do believe that the cabs are the same so it is probably a short where the wires leave the cab. Curt

Seat for needle in clutch valve may be mushrooming just enough to reduce oil flow to spool which will cause your problem. I would check hole size to see it is .055" or replace needle and seat. Wouldn't be a bad idea to check hydro charge and pressure reducing pressure but I would check the needle seat orfice first.

c.k., I would put all my money on the pressure reducing valve cartridge. This cartridge valve is about midway back on valve stack and has a 3_8' bolt with a jamnut that has been lockwired in place. If hyd. oil has not been serviced regularly a sliver of metal will get caught in valve and when you make a steering manuever you lose the 400psi pressure to keep seperator engaged.(Also valve can stick due to some scoring.Plumb a guage into rear of valve stack to check stand-by pressure(450-500psi.).With throttle at high idle and steering wheel being held against lH stop, guage should drop only 25-50psi..If guage drops to zero, you need to take pressure reducing vavle cartridge out and disassemble.Alot of time you can use crocus cloth to clean parts and reassemble. Good luck and let us know if you need further help, Hyper Harvest II
