Where atIJ And how different than the N7 was itIJ N5 was a shrunk N6 and the N7 was extra powered, enlarged tank N6. They needed many changes to the machine to get an N8, the basic chassis of the N6 was stretched to the limit with the N7. Beating the N7 of the time for grain tank capacity 315bu was going to be hard. Also stressful to the frame. Went on a plant tour when they were stamping frames for the Deutz Gleaners. Talk about earthquake, tour guide said that the vibration of the press coming down could be felt 4 miles away from the factory, possibably a reason they left Independence_KC. N7's were known in the early days to have structure weakness, an N8 would need a heavier frame. But AC and Gleaner were well known for proto's. See it again, get some pictures.

Never built a N8 proto of any kind; however, Gleaner owners have always been creative with decals. Have known a custom cutter or 2 who have upgraded their machines with decals i.e. replaced the 7 with an 8, or l into an l2.
