Chad When deere first introduced this combine in 89 a buddy of mine from college and his dad purchased one (9500) with a 30 foot plat. Talk about impressed!! I couldn't get over the capacity of that machine with a header that size. The major thing I feel you need to be careful in considering this engagement is how level is your groundIJ I am in no way familiar with S.C. but here in Kansas we have one field that will be perfectly flat and then the next rolling hills. I play heck alot of the time cutting terrace channels with my 30 footer on my 9600 and the added width of the combine vs. say a 9500 doesn't seem to help me much either. Also, loss is greater in cutting beans (so I've been told) the wider a platform you go so that's another detail you'll have to consider. I was really shocked to read that you only run 20 footers on those machines. No 9500 in this country here runs less than a 25 and even the 9400's run at least a 22 to 25 footer. You also need to consider if your on the road alot how a header trailer would be necessary vs. with a 20 footer you can darn near go down any road without taking the header off and still get over for oncoming traffic. If the terrain permits it the combine can handle that platform. JMHO

We have a 9550 with a 30 ft but have added a contour master for that exact reason.

I am a former deere tech and have ran a 930 with the full fingers. I found that it worked very well and did an excellent job of keeping the wall of grain of the knife and auger. I would recommend it.
