My first search missed "Amen Again" which adresses most of my questions. I live in Benton County, central MN. I'll be cutting Soy Beans. From what I gather, I should be looking for an 800 series 20' with AWS. Any other adviceIJ Thanks, Andy
The 800 feeds excellent and cuts close. We had a 25' 600 series and it cut close but wanted to slug the cylinder with uneven feed. The 800 was a 30' with the special (i believe chs) knife. It came in rivited together sections. After one year it was continually breaking until we put in a new knife which eliminated the breaking until it got about 1year old. It might work great on a 20'- I have friend that had one on a 25' and experienced similar problems but not as bad as we did.
I would look for a 800 series head with crary air reel. I have had air reels for along time and would never cut soybeans without one no matter what color of combine I had. The 800 series 30ft head that we have has the crary golden cut sickle and has performed very well.
