Combines Need help on 644 corn header

You, my friend, have a bad gear box, nothing a few hours at the shop and $750 wont fix. About a 2 or 3 hour job the first time to take a row unit off and put it back on. Unless you have a well equipped shop just remove the row unit and take it to the Deere dealer to have it rebuilt.

I have a gearbox rebuilt by my dealer with all new gears and bearings, new rolls, ready to bolt on. Been on the shelf in my barn for two years now. I don't raise corn anymore. Will take $1000 for all of it. located in Hereford TX. E-mail watfarms@starband.net if interested. Thanks, Roy

Check the roll pin in the front of the roll. Is it missingIJIJ If not the triple gear in the gearcase broke.

three things one the rool pin is missing or come out...2 the gear on the end of the roll shaft has strip the teeth and 3 u have split the three way gear i would say the three way gear has split on u quite common on some heads it is a simple job to do and not that complicated and u should have all the workshop equip ment to to it we can do them in hour start to finsh...the only real trick is to make sure u time the rollers when refitting good luck
