I have 3 thompson a frame trailers what I am trying to sell and a single axle wont handle the weight of a 2188 with rear wheel assist. You will end up with tire trouble we have hauled our 2188 and our 2388 on them but very short distances. We have a tandum axle one what has air ride suspenion, most standard a-frames dont have suspension only in the sag of the trailer and the tires. We use our tandum axle to pull both machines without any problems, we have 22.5 low profile tires on it versus the older 900.20's. I also have a Donahue drive on trailer I would like to sell it is a little more versatile you can drive a combine or tractor right up on it. I am willing to sell the single axle trailers for cheap one of them has hydrolic lift on it, maybe you could use axles and parts to build yourself one good heavy duty trailer, I am going to the 5th wheel type trailer. All of these trailers are set up for case combines so you could drive your 2188 on it boom it down and away you go. Well E-mail me if you are interested or have any other questions

We have an a frame trailer with single axle that we haul a 21200lb. Massey on. 55mph. Never have had tire trouble. Remember some of your weight transfers to the truck. Your dealer should be able to tell you what your combine weighs. I would load it up and run it across a scale so you know exactly how much weight is on the rear axle.
