Combines need help with grain loss monitor

Check the loss pad for the rotor loss. Twice the pad was gone and affected the needle. I lost shoe loss as you did. Corn cobs may have torn the pad off on both.

These are some things I've experienced with the GlM on my R-62. 1) I purchased the combine with 3000 hrs. on it and couldn't get a reading on the rotor pad. I switched pads with one of the shoe pads but still no reading. One morning I decided to try the other shoe pad but while disconnecting the wires on the rotor pad I noticed that the factory heat-shrink was partly covering the connector ring and with those beautyfull little brass washers on each side was not actually making contact!~ I trimmed the plastic on all the sensor wires and solved that problem. I guess the previous owner didn't worry about rotor loss. 2) What crop are you harvestingIJ I know I can do wheat at 1000 bu._hr. and have absolutly no shoe loss! 3) Don't get confused about the knobs. The range knob gets less sensitive as you turn to the right (I use this to set for kernel weight) while the setpoint gets more sensitive as you turn to the right.(use to adjust the amount the meter reads) 4) The settings for rotor or shoe can be vastly different for some crops. 5) The meter is sensitive to static build-up as are some of the other GlMs that I have used. (try rubbing the front edge of the meter with your finger!)
