Combines Need help with rotor speed changing pulley

i take the feeder driveshaft loose at the four bolts. same as installing rotor belt. loosen 1.5 in nut and disassemble the lower end and take the motor and bracket loose then you can take assm with 2 brgs. off the front end. do not loosen the 6 bolts that hold the gearbox or jackshaft or you will have to reallign pulley. lube them about double what it calls for will help also. brgs. have been updated through the years. the alarm is differnt problem.

I have already removed the 4 bolts on universal joint and the large bolt that limits travel and limit switchs and pryed some on the assembly but it would not give also I tried turning the large gear that holds the chain from the elect. motor both ways but got nowhere there. Any hints on how to get the part holding the bearings loose. Do you take one side of the large pulley offIJ Also what part does taking off the bracket holding the elect. motor play. Is it for clearance.

Your tailings elevator probly overloaded when the rotor slowed down due to incomplete threshing.

CRG, First of all do you have the plate and the long bolts that you use to compress the pulley when you change the rotor beltIJ Put that tool on and compress the pulley. When you have the pulley compressed you will see a snap ring on the shaft that holds that whole assemply on. Remove the snap ring and then all the will slide off the shaft. CRG, Hey disregard my post below. I reread your post and realized I was telling how to get the wrong pully apart. What iaremec told you is correct, but I can email you a parts book picture of what you are working on if you email me the serial n of you 1660. K.A.

I want to thank you for the info and let you know I got it fixed. The hard part after I located the 1.5" nut was that one of the bearings had welded itself to the hub and I had to spend half a day chiseling, fileing, and sanding to clean it up.

I think you are right because the light and buzzer where just intermitant and went off about three times before I caught what it was and got off and checked things out and when I looked back in the grain tank it was putting a lot of hulls in the bin.
