Combines need to pull tranny on 1688IJ

We had to drop the tranny on the 1640 we used to have two years ago. Dropped it right in our machine shed on the gravel floor and hauled it off to be worked on. It was pretty much drop the hydro motor off, disconnect the driveshafts, and disconnect the linkage. We used a large floor jack and blocks of wood to lower it down after we undid the bolts that held it on the axle. You'll need to guys to pick it up and lift it into a pickup though, there's a lot of weight in em.

You do not need to remove the trany from the combine to do this repair. Repace the shaft and the 2_3 sliding gear and bearings. Drain hydraulics and trany, remove the motor, trany top cover, bearing end caps, shift forks and you can replace these parts. End play on the change shaft is .002-.008, if the pinion shaft gear needs replacing also it can be done too, end play is the same. If you are having any cleaning system problems-broken chaffer sieve, broken bolts, broken drive shaft, cracked chaffer rails, tailings auger trough damage, frequent bushing failures, bearing support failure, noise I have a kit to repair all of these problems. If you have any questions you can call 701-755-3326 or e-mail heartlandrepair@restel.net.
