We updated to the mechanical linkage on the header control on a 1020 last year. We put a new electrical connector on our 83' 1460 like the 16 series and up. There is a CaseIH part that needs to be put on also, it's a short wire with a resistor that hooks between the combine and the potentiometer. I was told that it slows the signal for the header control for the older combines. It worked great for us, sure beats that old cable that fills with dirt and starts sticking.
