Fantasic! It's probably the only tractor on the market that's better than the 8020 tractors. The seat is unreal, lights fantastic (field vision) and the powershift is better than every tranny except the new IVT. I wouldn't own anything but.

As a John Deere tech I had the opportunity to go a service school on the new 8020 and 9020 tractors awhile back. We sell very few 9000 series tractors here but AlOT of 8000 series. I was very impressed with the new transmission design. It's very advanced yet very simple to calibrate and diagnosis. It's a VERY smooth shifting transmission.

My thoughts exactly. I haven't had a chance to run the new IVT, what did you think about it. Hopefully I will get a chance here pretty soon to run one.

25 mph down the road at 1200 rpm! What do you thinkIJ Unreal!!! When you go up a hill, just gives it a little more rpms and you AlWAYS stay at 25 mph. Will do the same in the field. You just adjust your speed like a hydro. It's simple and awesome. Drove a Fendt too, but way too complicated.

I bought an 8120 last Spring with the active seat, IlS and Field Vision. I'm generally fairly happy with the tractor. There are some improvements compared to the 8310 that we also have. The Field Vision is terrific but quite expensive. The IlS has its place but does not turn as short as the standard MFWD on 30" rows. It is necessary to use the brakes slightly with 12 row 30" equipment. Alot of braking action is required around the yard. Crop clearance might also be an issue for some. Wheel Hop seems improved with the IlS system. I am extremely disappointed with the active seat and would not recommend it. I am investigating the cost to have mine removed! I have had the dealer out on it several times. The problem for me is that being short and heavy, the computer constantly raises the seat to an uncomfortable height. I have resorted to carrying a block of wood with me to rest my feet on. Without the block, circulation is cut off in the back of my legs and causes pain. I do not experience this problem with an 8310 and the standard seat. I reported my dissatisfaction on the John Deere Satisfaction First Form. I asked for a reply by telephone or email but have not received one. The dealer always tells me to "sugar coat" my replies on these form as Deere really comes down on them. Apparently they don't feel my suggestions are very important as I have not heard from either the dealer or Deere. I am starting to believe from this experience and others that the Satisfaction First Program is merely a Public Relations attempt without much backing. I expect that I may get a computer generated letter eventualy thanking me for my response.
