I have not heard of any C-IH articulated combine, but maybe some of you may remember a story about one several years ago in the Farm Show magazine. I really wonder about its credibility because the farmer who had allegedly built it never answered any letters or returned phone calls. It was never verified at all! I have had other such failures to respond from others with "great inventions" featured in this publication which now seems more to me like a tabloid for farmers. If anyone out there does remember this story or actually contacted Mr. Vogel, it would be interesting to know the rest of the story. My big question on this articulation issue is how to keep up with grain trasfer and not interfere with crop flow.

It sounds like the long talked about Axial Flow that supposedly tows a Cart and can unload into it over the rear or unload either side, A lot of rumours about this combine doing 100 ton_hour (sorry i've no idea how many bushels that is!) 400 hp doesn't seem plenty for that kinda output. The rotor is supposed to be Hydrostaticaly driven but surely something similar to the CVX gearbox would be much more efficient. As i say a lot of rumours but no pictures. If it did exsist it has probably been squashed since the merger and a single rotor squeezed into the curvy NH range.

The farm i work for in North West Illinois had a combine similar to what you guys are talking about around 2 years ago beacuse my boss was good friends with the case people he left them about 300 acres of corn and they showed up in the middle of january to try this machine I think the combine had 600 HP and 800 bu tank cap cause he could fill an 840 Kinze in one dump with it at the same time they also had a 350 HP version of a 2388 which from what i been told that the 2388 frame will fit underneath that new style NH it will still be a case combine it will just have NH Skin on it

both of the things you talk about were prototypes that were built and field tested sometime in the past 5 years. They were mainly testing wild concepts-they planned to try a lot of different things and implement those that worked the best.
