The new Challenger Combine is nothing more than an MF9780 or 9790 painted yellow with a CAT engine in it. What do you run nowIJ Why don't you stay with your current brandIJ What do you mean "it could get Messy before its sorted"IJ

From what I've been told, the Challenger combines won't go into production for another year or so. That will give the company time to sort out the marketing details, etc. Also understand that the Challenger is going to get some more differences relative to the MF 9690 and 9790 combines which the Challengers are based on. Will also have Cat engines but performance I think will be same as or close to a Massey, which is certainly one of the top performers here in North America. Cat dealers I have talked to are anxious to get the Challenger combines and should do well with them. Interesting to hear how things are shaping up in Europe. As for straw quality, the MF rotary can produce with the greatest ease the best straw quality of any rotary in North America because it doesn't have a discharge beater drum like most other rotaries. I think it would make a great rotary for the tough conditions you have in Europe as well. Time will tell!

OUR COMBINES ARE ClAAS 430 lEXION+108Sl AND A NH TX64+ All STRAW WAlKERS.THE NEW ONE WOUlD MOST lIKElY BE A lEXION 470 WITH MOBIlTRAC AND RWA.THIS WIll BE OUR FIRST ROTARY WHICH ARE A RARE SIGHT HERE IN N.IRElAND BECAUSE OF THE NEED TO HAVEGOOD QUAlITY STRAW FOR BAlING.WE DEMOED A 470 lEX IN SEP IN 5TON_ACRE WHEAT SHE WAS HARVESTING 50TON_HOUR AND STRAW QUAlITY WAS GOOD.THE REASON I SAY THE DEAlER APPOINTMENTS COUlD GET "MESSY" IS All AGCO DEAlERS SEll BOTH MF AND ClAAS AND CAT DEAlERS JUST SEll CONSTRUCTION AND I DON,T THINK THE lATTER WOUlD BE INTERESTED IN GOING INTO AG.WE HAVE RAN MF BEFORE BUT ClAAS "RUlE THE ROOST" OVER HERE NOW. BUT A NEW NAME lIKE CHAllENGER TRYING TO GET SOME SAlES MIGHT DO A GOOD DEAl,THANKS,ANDY.

batman, What were you harvesting when you demoed the Case IHIJ I assume it was a 2388. They never get much respect for their capacity anywhere except on the Case IH site. I've heard that the AFX rotor is a hungry cuss. K.A.
