I saw a new 12 row 30 inch cornhead at Nebraska Husker Harvest Days in Grand Island September 13.

A 12RW ready 2388 will have added structural supports to the chassis as well as the feeder. The rock trap housing is heavier to handle the added weight of a 12RW head. If equipped, the field tracker face plate is also structurally heavier.

Does anyone know if the new Case cornheads are exactly like the NH headersIJ Or do they have some NEW distinguishing features the NH headers do not haveIJ Seems like I read someplace they have 2 optional stalkrolls, one that chops stalks much better than NH but uses a lot more HP, plus lower HP std. rolls.

they had a 2388 12 row ready machine at the farm progress show. what a joke! pile a bunch of suitcase weights on the rear axle and call it a twelve row machineIJ looks like it leaves a little to be desired. Hope the boost the hp to keep up with the NH head. I realize that there are some differences betweent he nh and the case version, but that nh head is a horsepower sucker. I remember a local farmer had a 12 row deere head on a 2188 and he could cruise along about 2 mph in 160 bu corn. Pretty impressive huhIJ

I used the new 2212 cornhead, on 1200 acres I had it on a 2388, this head is definetly 2 steps backwords from the 1083 heads. Combine won't pull it without burning the belts, in irgated corn 3 miles per hour is all. Case was no help! We'll definetly send the head back.

Funny, from the guys I have talked to (dealers and factory reps),the 12Row Ready 2388 has a lot more than just some suitcase weights on the rear axle. Perhaps you should take a closer look next time you are near one !
