do you believe that. think about! wy should they change the adpter or the cab its just a great cab. did you ever drive a lexion its just a pain in the a.... they use the adapter worldwide everyting is set. we should just wait till we see the new combines. there is to much talk going on. but if you can tell me new things about the new cats (lexion)(lexion 470-2005)single rotor. i have seen the new spfh and the lexion for 2004 its just the same only a little bid round.

Yes, I believe that they are changing the attachment system and the platforms as a whole. When you take heads off and on a lot the present attachment system is somewhat of a pain. The spring-loaded pins invariably get dirt and foreign material in them and do not work good. Not sure how much cab is changing, probably just a new seat like the tractors have. The platforms need much improvement to take advantage of the STS. The wobble box knife drive is antique and gives a lot of trouble with the speeds needed to keep the STS full in wheat. We have been told the new knife is hydrualic suspended with 4 inch sections. AC vents in cab could use some work, displays, especially greenstar could also stand some updating. Buddy seat badly needs updating. Could also use a small refrigerated compartment, perhaps under the buddy seat or immediately behind it. When you spend 1000 hours or more per year in one you can find several things that could be improved. Gear shift lever is in the way and a joke. Still best machine on the market but everything can be improved. Cell phone and two-way radio brackets would also be a nice addition. Easier way to clean the grain tank and back cab windows would help.

Cab has not changed. Most likely will change in 2006. Not sure about old heads on new machines, know the feeder house is different for the new heads.

Old heads will work on new combines. Deere usually creates bundles.

We shall see . . . . dealers claim there is no such bundle yet and they definitely will not fit the new feeder house. I know that a couple of third party short lines are presently working on retrofits. I agree Deere has usually made a bundle available and will probably do so again.

My dealers seem unsure, but tend to go with the idea that a mismatch been old heads on new combines and vice versa will be more difficult than in the past. They seem to think that conversions from Deere will be available but that they will be costly. I have been considering updating to a new bean head for my late 9500. My current head is much older than the combine and has some problems. My current corn head is newer than the combine and I am happy with it. Two local dealers are trying to encourage me to do this now (since Deere and third party conversions are available for the current new heads) rather than wait for the very newest heads to be introduced later this year. Their next approach is to trade both combine and bean head to have a match. This would solve any mismatch problems there. It would create a mismatch between my current corn head which I would like to keep. All in all, I'm probably better off to keep what I have.

With the new latching and the single point hook up, I too think the conversion kit will be expensive. The multi coupler alone will be a costly conversion and will the wiring match up wellIJ

What i have heard is the new platform is easier to hook up and takes less horsepower to run and will have an adapter for older machines
