No, maybe not. A New Holland number would be 996 or the newest 96c. I think the CIH has a gearbox on them for the drive hookup to change the speed. I not saying that a New Holland would not work but it may take some work to make it work rightIJ Ilnewholland

I believe they are the same, but the gear ratio on the oil drives are different. The NH ratio is sped up and the CIH ratio is neutral if I remember right. They can be altered.

I agree with IlNewholland 2200 series equals 996 or 96c. I certainly feel CNH needs to do some more refining to make it totally desirable head. We own a 2208 and old IH 983 and a MF cornhead. I think the old timers (corn huskers) would find the most loss behind the 2208, if you were sending a gleaner man to pick up the losses. At least in some instances. Every brand has places they each individually shine.

A NH 98C head is the latest build. A 96C will fit to NH combines the same but lacks the header hight sensing and needs a electical connector and hydraulic adapter for newer machines. I'm pretty sure CaseIH made their own mods to the base NH head. If I'm wrong will correct it but I think the CaseIH only drives from one side and has a shiftable 2 speed gearbox.
