A couple of answers to your qustions. TR-70 height max. 164" to top of air cleaner(can be taken off) or 142" to top of cab. Transport width (28l x 26 tires) is 127". Do not know combine length but with grain head it is 335". As for hydro combines you have a 4 speed gearbox and use your hydro lever for forward or backward and a speed range. Gear 1 is good for 0-1.5 mph, gear 2 0-4mph, gear 3 0-7.5 and gear 4 0-15 mph or so. Why do you not just use gear 4 all the time you askIJ Because the oil will get hot and no more hydro.

Thanks, Ilnewholland for your reply, but I'm still a little confused. How can you shift gears without a clutchIJ TR's only have two brake pedals. Is there a hand clutch or whatIJ Also, What is the reverse gear forIJ You can move in reverse by pushing the hyrdostatic lever back, rightIJ Also, I've been looking at some TR70's and they have a small yellow pedal on the floor to the far left in front of the threshing controls. I originally thought that was for the unloading auger, but then I saw there was a lever that you turn for the unloading auger to go in and out. WHat is that small pedal forIJ If anyone can help me, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

When the hydro lever is in the neutral position the transmision can be shifted. Kind of like when you shift a truck on flat ground with the engine killed, you really don't need a clutch unless the gears mesh wrong. In that case, you just ease the hydro lever forward or backward a bit and it falls into gear. Nearly all hydro's work this way.

They only have 4 speed gearbox, no reverce gear. If I remember right the small pedal is to change the reel speed on the grain head. The combine has a small hyd cylinder on the feeder house that hooks to a rod that moves the variable speed drive on the head.

Thats the dealer I got my combines from! Tom is a good dealer so I would go by what he says and look the combine over a lot.

Sorry, but I don't know enough about the NH machines to comment. I would guess that for the price, the dealer must not think it is much of a machine. Seems really cheap to me.
