Talked to a guy at JD's experimental farm by the factory in Waterloo, Ia a few weeks ago. He said he drove the new 8520 with supposedly 265hp and a transmission like the big Fendt tractors. By the way, the new big tractor will be a 9510.

9400, 9510, 7700...I sure wish Deere would stop giving tractors combine numbers. It's bad enough they can't even give a rotary and a conventional different model numbers except being followed by this "STS" stuff.

Allthe tractors will carry the "20 Series" designation...even the 9000s. They're skipping the the TEN Series there. The 8420 and 8520 will be different than the 8120-8320 (which will be primarily unchanged). The 8420 and 8520 will have a larger frame (with front duals available) and have a front suspension. Plus these tractors will finally have a tilting hood. The 9420 will be the same hp as the 9400, but they will add a 9520 and step up the hp on it. By the way, the Frontier line will include much more than just Woods manufactured items. Those are just the first to be intro'd.

AAAHHH thanks! This explains why all the 8000 series tractors rolling down I-380 south of Waterloo, IA have tarps or bags over the front of the tractor. All that is visible is the cab and the rear tires_wheels. Thought they were doing something like a model change.

I've been seeing those go past on the interstate near our house too. I figured they had to be the new tractors. Funny how all the tractors I have seen are always trucked with some other current tractor, I have yet to see two of these new tractors on the same trailer.
