" Rotor The 680B increases crop throughput with the largest rotor in the industry, measuring 31 in diameter by 140 in length. This allows the combine to maximize productivity by operating at higher ground speeds. " Sounds like they are using the rotors out of Whites 9700 series.

I believe the 9700 had a 31.5" rotor, though I thought it was a little longer, say, about 168"IJ We had both the Massey and White prototypes in our neighbourhood back in the 70's; - both VERY similar machines. The Massey was earmarked the "TX903", and it's prototype boasted (besides massive capacity) about 10 to 12 gallons of hydraulic oil leaks per day of operation. It was comical to watch those engineers at work; - oil leaks, misaligned belts and malfunctioning electronics meant NOTHING so long as the basic machine worked.

Dad was working ground up on 36 hiway yesterday and swears that combine is what he seen going west on a truck. I took a copy of that picture at profi up to him this morning to look at and he swears that was the machine. No platform and the machine was not tarped up or anything. I didn't realize any of them were in the usa yet and I'm rather surprised noone has mentioned a peep of where they are headed with 1 or that 1 is even in the states. FWIW and as ripley would say, believe it or not. I wasn't there so I didn't see it with my own eyes but I can vouch for a fact that the old man doesn't lie.

Deerebines, I was at the factory wednesday july 5th and they were loading one on a truck. It was right after lunch. Could that be the one your dad sawIJ It kind of looked like a New Holland with a Massey paint job. There were two new Massey style Gleaners there also. Don't know if they were being shipped. des.

That's the day that machine went by on the hiway and it had to been close to 6:30 or so in the evening when Dad seen it. You say at the factory, you were in hesston I take it thenIJ That would of gave the guy plenty of time. I think we're something like 3 hours from there. All I know is guy above says they are being shown at st. louis, this one was headed west. St. louis is east. I'm mighty curious where this particular machine was headed if it was trying to catch up to the harvest west of here or was going to head north after getting farther west to catch the harvest. All I know is I can't wait to see that machine. I am very curious. Does it still have the same designed rotor or is it a complete new designIJ I hope it's a success is all I know. Need the competition in the combine market.

Hey, They are suppose to be bringing one out to Eastern Idaho for this grain harvest. I don't know how close they are getting to start thrashing over though because I'm in Southern Idaho and we are still 3 weeks away. Our combine rep. for our area said that they will be using them on custom harvesting crews to work the bugs out of them for this harvest so they will be ready for next year. MF 9790

That is more than likely where it was headed then. Well, more of the mystery is unraveled. I read these machines were built in Denmark. Wouldn't it been easier to unload it off the barge in long beach CA. and run to Idaho instead of taking it to hesston KS and then to IdahoIJ It's stunts like that I wonder how massey is still in business......oh that's right, AGCO! *Grin* Still one heckuva big look'n beast. Hope it's competitive.

Hey, My father and I went to Hesston in the end of February and one of the factory workers that was preparing the motors to go into the combines said that they were going to send some class 8 machines down the line, but I don't know if it was only the Challenger machine or what. My dad wishes we would have been there to see the class 8 because we are kinda interested in it.
