Disregard Mr. langan, He has been known to see, say or do things backwards. First thing that comes to mind is he once owned a JD tractor that all JD owners bow down to as greater than creation itself. We all make mistakes, right Tom. Yes, that is true. I had to attend an AGCO sponsered 12 step program where they made me get up and say "My name is Tom langan, and I bought a 4020". Remember, the first step is admitting you have a problem. It's been 13 years, 4 months, and 10 Deere-free days now. I will waste a bit of Marv's disk-space to explain myself. We always had hired a neighbor to do our forage harvesting. Our biggest tractor at the time was an Allis 180. Neighbor explains about 1 week before 1st crop hay is ready to chop that he's not doing custom work anymore!! Sooooo, we had to do some fancy dealing to round up a chopper and wagons of our own. Then we needed a tractor to run the chopper since the 180 was our blower tractor. looked far and wide for a good 7000 or 7010 Allis but none were to be found in good shape. So we broke down and bought this really nice looking 4020 that a local jockey had. It was a rush decision. Never, ever, make rush decisions!! We celebrated for weeks when Johnny Half-a-day left this farm to be replaced with an 8010! Signed, Tom langan FORMER 4020-ahaulic

I can tell by the responses that this is going to be a very good experience for me. We used to run the Massey combines (a 300 and a 550). All the neighbors had Gleaners. Finally wised up and bought a M. Boy, talk about easy to work on after a Massey. What impressed me was you could actually see the bearing that was out and not have to work on it for a day taking stuff off just to see the bearing. Any way, THANKS to you all for making me feel so welcome and I look forward to many great discussions,Eddy

It is nice to visit with you, Eddy. Those M2s are fabulous machines. We named ours Medusa because the Chief Money Spender figured I spent too much time with it. How is harvest coming along in your part of the worldIJ We might start on soys today if the weather holds. Tom in MN, the state where nothing is allowed.

Tom, we too use nicknames for our Gleaners. One of the most popular is Gleaner Cleaner (grain)and Gleaner Chompbine. As far as harvest goes, Isidore just came through. She left us with 3 to 5 inches of rain. Needless to say, harvest has come to a stop. Before Isidore early beans are already out. Our beans are late group 5 and they are just now turning. We have 350 acres of corn and have 50 of that out. Our corn seemed to stay green until Monday, when it got to running 14-16% moisture. The yield is better than 100 bu so far, which is good for this part of the country. With a M2 and a F2 it won't take us long to harvest our crop provided we have enough room to hold all this grain. But with the prices of corn and soybeans, we may sell what we can't hold.

Please accept apology for the late response to your question. Isidore played heck with our corn. It's falling badly-as much as 50% in the field we just started in. So, we have been running pretty hard to try and get all we can. But to answer your question, I live in not far from Pulaski, TN

Have you tried the "Feedback" to Marvin, our webmaster. I hear there are a lot of people in the same situation.
