20 bushels per second seems pretty incredible_unbelievable, as it would probably take about 250 hp just to unload. That doesn't leave much for anything else. The new combine unloads 3.0 bushels per second, which is good. The combines have pre-loaded settings in the electronics, which are very advanced. Not surprising given the fact that these combines are based on the NH TX from Europe, and appear more European in origin than U.S. The combine does not automatically adjust for losses and returns volume. I wouldn't want a combine doing that for me anyway; it's a bad idea. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The new CNH machine looks far too heavy and complicated to earn the love of too many custom harvesters in my opinion. Just give me a simple combine!

The 60 series has several changes, many are related to upgrades in front end equipment and grain handling. Will it unload at 20bu_secIJ No, but you will be pleasantly surprised. As for an unload rate of 20 bu_sec, the auger would have to be at over 3' with conventional methods of unloading auger design. Now with a belt conveyor, maybe...

They're going to build a new combine for 2004 anyway. What difference does it make if they give it a different model numberIJ It's nice to remember that way, so then you don't have it like all these other brands when they made this major change one year and another major change another year, and so on, then when you go to buy a used one, you have to find out if it has this or that on it. To me, you have to keep making changes, and if you're making major improvements, which Deere will always do (this is what makes them stand out from everyone else),you might as well make a number change. Anyway, the combine will have a 22" auger on it (which will kill the unload rate of the New Holland because it's not just a standard auger that's moving super fast, and therefore damaging crop, like the Fiat combines are). They will also have different header hookups and computer controlled in-cab adjustments like the Fiat combines have. Other than that, they're not changing much. They are going to add a 9860sts and a 9560sts.

Exactly my thought on the unloading rate of the NH and CIH machines. From the looks of things, all they did was speed it up. Trying to make a mix mill or a combineIJ Actually the design to increase the unload rate is not only accomplished in the unloading auger, but the grain tank floor has some modifications to reduce the HP draw and increase the rate.
