Combines new rotor induction

What you saw was the AFX rotor- the descriptions posted earlier here and on other boards match what you saw. I have read that some think it is similar to the existing New Holland rotor, except much larger in size so that it will fit in a Case-IH combine. Would make some sense, since the next CIH combine due in 2004 will share many parts with NH and come off the same line.

I can assure you that the AFX Rotor had nothing to do with the NH Twin Rotor-It is purely a CASE design. Frmall

I think that IH and New Holland may have had problems with patent infringment way back when the Axial Flow and the Twin Rotor combines came out. I think the same guy worked on both of them. Maybe thats why IH had elephant ears and NH had two rotors with an auger at the front of their rotors.

Don't know about on-line, but the CIH dealers should have gotten a product news flyer (GH-2022-01) for the 2002 machines and it has information in it about the AFX rotor. In addition to changing the feed system on the front the segments have also been rearranged to more closely resemble the standard rotor. This rotor's ability to move crop material is better than the specialty rotor's and really improves as crop and harvesting conditions move from ideal to extremely poor.
