New to "Farming"

We purchased a horse farm in Northern CT (16.5 Acres in total) and the pastures have an abundance of moss and weeds, including Goldenrod. We have taken down about 30 large trees to allow sun to hit. My plan is to add limestone powder very soon as spring is greening things up quickly.
Any suggestions from you real farmers/ag folks is appreciated. I know money solves all kinds of problems but looking for reasonable solutions. Thanks!

Limestone sounds like a good start with moss and goldenrod but invest $20 or so in a soil test before you start throwing money willy nilly

Your local extension office should be able to do that. It would be a good idea to get to know them for general purposes anyway. For instance, does Connecticut consider 16 acres of horse pasture a bona-fide crop? That could make a difference.

What are you planning on doing with the farm? Grow crops? Raise livestock?
