Combines Next Question 9600 Hydro charge pressure light

Hate to say this but my guess would be your charge pump is about to take a dump. Is your combine a planetary or ring and pinion final drive rigIJ I will take a look in my tech book in the morning and see what it says, but I'm not sure if the charge presssure has a bypass. It could be the sensor, have seen 2 go bad before... Gg

Planetary drive. Where exactly is this charge pumpIJ Is it a hard changeIJ I'm sure it's a really good and proper oily mess when done. Does a guy rebuild it or just get a new one or a rebuilt one and put it onIJ How many dollars are we talkingIJ The hydro isn't sloppy. It's very responsive and doesn't hesitate or for that matter jump either. Works pretty much like it always has. Maybe that isn't a good way to tell anything. I appreciate your help.

The charge pump is in between the hydro and the hydraulic pump up by the motor. One of the three hydraulic oil filters is attached to the bottom of it. The charge pressure sensor is in a block fitting right by the steering accumulator_attenuator. IJIJ on being able to rebuild one a new one from deere is over 1000 bones, there is a difference between randp and planet final drives also.

I'm gonna assume you have a non-planetary final drive combine and pre 97 model: AH165115 pump is $1290 It does have a relief valve AN122498 is $335 Charge pressure sensor is n ah128929 and is $63 If I find a pressure spec I will post if for you. Gg

All right info. galore: There is also a charge pres. relief valve down on the hydro motor at the tranny. It is the one facing upward on the block between the two big pressure hoses. The test port for the charge pressure is located in the filter boss on the bottom of the charge pump. Use a 600 psi gauge Pressure should be above 230 psi in N and above 205 in F and R If F and R are low and N is OK, it says the valve down at the motor needs to be removed, and cleaned and checked good. If all 3 are low then the charge pump is failing. Gg

Got er fixed Gg. Nothing more than a mere sensor causing all this grief the whole time. Borrowed a hose and gauge and went for a test drive this morning. 340 psi cold at startup no load. After that when warmed up was always around 400 on demand. Sometimes would bounce clear up between 600 and 800 psi. Pump is good. Found where the sensor was, got a replacement. Didn't hear a buzzer or see a light out of the ordinary to get excited over all day long. Plum tickled pink that solved the problem. I appreciate your help. The bypass valve was the next culprit we were going to go after. To replace that.......300 smackers. Somedays, I think a combine is worse than a slot machine. lOl. Thanks alot for your help.
