That price with the corn now under 3.00 makes it easy to know what you are planting next year. Beans unless something changes between now and March. Now has all these people been lieing about everything going up because of being Petroluem based,or are they lieing nowIJIJIJIJIJ IG

Good question IG. No company seems to be acountable for what they charge for anything anymore in this farming game. I have heard there are ethanol plants here not keeping there grain contracts. That would be a bite in the shorts. If they can lie and get away with it they will.

Our retail price for nh3 is about $900 per ton at Ft. Dodge, Ia. We happen to have a Koch anhydrous plant east of Ft. Dodge. One of my neighbors works there. He tells me the wholesale price of nh3 has gone from $1025 a ton to$400 to $600 a ton. That was a couple weeks ago, so I assume the price has dropped even further. My guess is the retail price won't drop until the fertilizer dealer can sell all his high priced inventory first.

The PROBlEM here is Cooperatives and really good fertilizer dealers thought the prices were headed out the roof and bought N at $900-1000 per ton. I am talking 3-5 million dollars. Now they have it and those smaller dealers who did not buy - some thought they were going out of business - are now able to supply the area with 5-600 _ T anhydrous and likewise difference on P and K . One director told me their inventory was bought at 5 mil and now worth 3.5 mill and headed south. I told him welcome to the club of farming. How many bins of 5-6$ corn are now worth less than $3 IJ Ain't life grand Master Robin IJ(said to Robin Hood after they repo'd his castle "RobinHood Men in tights") last year we went to a marketing day at Murray State Univ. where they paid Brock as in the report guy , big bucks to tell of his wisdom - he was not wise..

You hit the nail on the head Tbran. I just wish those coops would admidt they forward contracted there product, because they thought it was going up. Thinking they would again fill there pockets off of the farmer, like last year. And now they are hung out to dry, because we were tired of hearing there song and dance. So what if they run out we cant afford it anyway. And on your price of grain there. I went to the elevator today they are paying 2.80 for corn and 7.50 for beans, man we farmers are going to make a killing in 08. IG

Same here guys! A big Fert company on the radio the other day was wingen about the fact that farmers are not ordering any fertilizer so the price wont come down till they do!!!! asking AU$1100 bucks a ton for DAP fert! when current world pricers are around the AU$400 a ton for the same stuff! Manager was claiming that they carnt get any more new fert in at lower pricers due to sheds and silos been full of expensive fert! WEll HEllO!!!! welcome to our world big boys! Its not like we can chuck a hissy fit when we have wheat stored in silo and watch grain pricers fall and say that no one will get my grain until they are willing to buy it from me at 50% higher pricers than now! Well I can I suppose, but I be don't have enough storage to cover tens years of harvest, even at our low production levels!!! and plus I be broke! Why do these big company's managers think that it should all go their wayIJ they speculated! they should cop it on the chin and if there share holders think they stuffed up! out the door with them!
