Combines No Altendorf lawsuit

SIlVERTURNEDGREEN Thats not what my boss was told. He talked with Altendorf in Pierre SD, and got a whole different story. Says they weren't happy with their STS and were going back to 2388's. They only thing I don't know is the lawsuit. Maybe what altendorf told you is finally what the deal is all about. lets hope this ends it, because all I am hearing is 2 different stories from red and green boys alike.

One more thing Did altendorf say why they lost 30k acre job in SDIJ Just wondering.

She (Altendorf) made no mention of even loosing any jobs over their decision to purchase STS combines. She did, however, mention that they were VERY happy with the capacity and performance of the STS's, but also indicated that the STS9750 was far superior to the STS9650. Jobs can be lost for many reasons and, while it sounds "politically exciting" to blame the loss of a job on Deere, this probably isn't reality. As of todays date however, the Altendorfs are VERY happy with their Deere's, and have few regrets purchasing them. They just wished the rumours would stop!

SilverTurnedGreen I didnt know it was a she running the operation. I wonder how the hell the rumors got started anyway. It kinda sounds funny, because, my boss got a call from this 30k acre wheat farmer somewhere near Pierre. Told him, he was lookiing for some crews to cut his wheat because he fired the Altendorfs. My boss would have liked to cut some of his wheat, but already had a farmer lined up west of pierre. It looks like some mess up between one of the parties regarding what REAllY is going on. Could be the Altendorfs wouldnt admit to this supposedly fact about losing the 30k acre job. Hell, who cares anyway. If they are happy with their STS, then I guess the whole thing is messed up, because, I heard alot of positive comments about the STS. I guess someone on the RED sideline is starting some invisible battle over the colors. Anyone, hope this crap is straigthen out by now.

I would imagine there is a big learning curve. There are big stakes when Deere sells 22 combines to one operation. Folks want to know how these machines are fairing in the real world. I will let you know how the STSs run in corn and soybeans in eastern Indiana. The problem is that most of my neighbors that lease are sticking with the traditional cylinder drum JDs. I won't report unless I can directly speak to the party who is running an STS. In any event I am looking forward to running a few hours in a 6620 Titan II.
