I heard the same. Deere feels the STS can be optimized to perform "as good or better" than a CTS, and they're priced pretty close to each other (CTS vs. STS).

Had both recently and I'll take a 9660 STS over a CTS any day in rice. It's cheaper, more HP, bigger hopper, and you'll have a bigger market when it comes trade time. If you're just clipping the heads off, the STS will get more done in an hour. The only time I saw an advantage to the CTS was cutting extremely green lodged rice. Even then, the difference wasn't huge.

theres alot more CTSs' around my area than STSs'. I find this hard to believe.
