I can only tell you about my 8780xp in high yielding wheat 80 to 140 bu.Concaves set at 1_4 inch and run two blanks. The air at max and the bottom sieve at1_2 to 3_4 of a inch and non ajustable airfiol on top.Rotor at 850 to 950.It will cut 1000 bushels an hour and is clean in the tank.Remember if you close the bottom sieve too much you also shut off the air.

Hey, Where are you fromIJ Why such a high price on the combineIJ We priced a MF 9790 and it was only 194,000. Sorry for the questions. Thanks, MF 9790

To answer the pricing discrepancy, the $350,000 are obviously Canadian dollars. The amount, and the mention of barley, canola, and wheat, gave it away. What height are you cutting the strawIJ Excessive straw will decrease capacity substantially. As far as settings, I can only impart what seems to work well on these machines here in ND. Concave 0.2, rotor speed max. (wish these machines had another 200 rotor rpm to play with),Fan at 1350 rpm, No blanks installed (if hard thresh may run one but wouldn't try all 3). We prefer to run all wires installed and keep the rotor blanks out. If straw gets tough or weed pressure is high, all rotor knives installed. Good luck.

The price is high.neighbor was told $200,000 Canadian cash price for a new 9790. I think prices on everything has become "let's see how bad this guy wants this thing". It sure is true when it comes to new trucks.
