Combines Now I Know

Great little machines they are. There is no comparison to other colors when running these smaller machines. I always wondered why would any combine manufacturer put the cab operator off to the side...not in the middle like Gleaners. If they could not get that part right why buy into the rest of the machine. They make good machines......but they aren't Gleaners that are simply fun to run. I like my Gleaner combines just fine...glad to hear you do to.

A Gleaner can be a real picker upper if things arent going so well around a farm. When those days come along, I open the doors of the storage bldg, climb into the Gleaner, fire up that smooth running power plant, and just sit there enjoying the sound. This is also good for the engine, but it does more good for me.

Glad to hear that you are happy with the Gleaner. You mentioned getting hung up with the shifter. To avoid this in future, make sure that you lube the linkage connections and then when shifting, TAKE YOUR TIME don't get in a big hurry and try to force her into gear. Slow the engine down and put your foot all the way down on the clutch, shifting will be smooth, with no hangups. It is a mistake that many of us new guys make, trying to force things. The Gleaner will do the work, just give her a chance.
