Combines observations on the AFX8010

8010 combine issues are still occuring for us. We have had our combine two weeks and have had a multitude of issues from hydraulic sensors continually going off to feeder chain jumping sprockets. I think this will be a good combine, but the factory has been less than helpful to say the least. We have cut 70,000 bu of wet corn and have had hydraulic leaks, chain jumping, and hydraulic sensors going off. Other than that I think the machine is good.

We also have had feeder house chain jump the sprockets. Replaced both chains, picked about 10 acres and one jumped again. Was told by local IH mechanic to remove the stripper plate attachment located just below top cover plate. Thinks it will keep trash from wrapping under the chain. Might try tomorrow.

the dealers where all told to remove the bar before it went to the field. I've had no feeder trouble. I had a warning light going off all the time as well "PTO controler pressure to low" it was only 255 instead of 290-320 it can be adjusted. Control pressure can displayed on the monitor. to check it out put the combine in neutral push the hydro clear head and turn on the seperator and head and watch the pressure. might be as high as 360 when cold. I think the electronics is fine but the learning curve is long.

Changes will be coming probably for nest year in the feeder house, also a 36 ft flex is out being tested for next year.

I'm surprised you can only go 7.2 with this combine. I would be very disappointed with this if I were you. Have you had your CIH tech look at thisIJ In my experience if I can't go at least 8mph cutting beans it isn't even worth the time to be out there. let someone else do it.

How in the world can you do a good job cutting soybeans at 8 mph. I have seen flexheads at 5-6 and they leave alot of uncut stalks. Just wondering if you knew something we dont.

Your going to lip off about .8 of a mile an hour when you don't even know what the conditions are. Give your head a shake and type things that make sense.

It takes dam good conditions to run that fast!! I'd rather have a 40 footer and go slow. 6 is plenty fast for my old bones she needs tracks under her so it rides good. but it was fun to do it anyway esp if theirs a green one across the fence.
