well first off an 850 and a 7300 arn't even close to the same machine! an 830 would keep up with a 7300 deer no problem! i demoed an 870 agianst a deer 7500 and the 870 (with 90 horsepower less) would chop the exact same speeed as the 7500 with the same size head, in the same field all the while burning less fuel! i was very impressed to say the least! my best advice is to have both dealers bring there best running machine out and run them in the field at the same time!! then you'll see the difference. just my two cents!

NH dealers here in the UK are currently selling 05 FX's with a full two year warranty in order to keep their customers who have been waiting since 1994 for a new improved FX!!!!!! Word is a completely new FX will be introduced for 06 season. As for JD 7000 series or Claas Jaguar,The very few 74_75's that where sold around here gave alot of problems with pick-up gearboxes,no power etc, etc. The Jaguars are just the best chopper out there no contest, we have a new 05 900 coming in May.

Big Truck my 00 FX had a two year warranty and my current 04 30 has it two. I always had NH and was fairly happy until now. Seems like they are always a little behind with there crop prossesing and chop quality was a big problem this year. I was in Belgium in the begining of Dec. on a plant tour with NH and nothing was said about a new machine coming that quick. I live in s.e. PA and there was a protype in the area for about a week in spring of 04. A freind of mine got a chance to use it for a couple of hrs till it broke down then it went back to New Holland and got locked in a shop. It showed up a couple days later ran a little more and then got shipped off to New York then it was going to Canada, and California.Cannot wait till they have the bugs worked out of a new machine, wont have any customers left till then.I'm leaning towards an 850 seem to be a good machine very reliable.Claas dealer has 3FX's on his lot already and is working on 2 more so I guess the choice is odvious

Hello FX Why do you think does a Company in the US sell Chopper drums(extra made for Jaguar and FX) with the promise of 20%more troughput and to save more than 15% fuel. i mean they sell Drums in Duradrum Style. Wearparts in Hardox 500 Quality ! i know some Contractors who run both machines and they wouldend buy again if that is tru what Big truck and Justpurrin telling here. Send me your email and i will get you some information about Comparing a 7300 vs 870 !!!! a 695mega Claas vs 840 Cutting Corn in the same field with 13mm cuttlenght. there was no diffrence,so why do you think should a JD not Compare to a Claas in the same range. thats what if been told by Contractors who Compared a 695 with a 840. You will have a diffrence as soon you go under 6mm cutlenght becouse of the Feedhouse. 6850 owend by the same guy who runs a BIG X(605hp) is cutting a 3.1 ha average with 6850 (tunned up to 580hp) and with the Big x 3.4ha by 14mm.
