Probably the wrong board for this IJ however I'll give you my $.02. We were in the market for a 1-3 year old unit and looked at the 3 brands above although in the 180-200hp size. Quite frankly all 3 are very good and for us it came down to which was available at the best price. I preferred the cab of the MX and TG over the Deere, but I liked the operators controls in the Deere better than the other 2. We wound up with a blue one with a few hundred hours on it that in my opinion was heavily discounted compared to what we could find in red or green. I'll add that we also ran a DT200 for a few days and it is a good machine, but I absolutely hated how the seat and the console aligned and the cab was a bit smaller than the others. Your leg always seemed crammed into the side of the console on the right hand side. Furthermore in most areas the resale on the orange one will really be poor compared to the rest and your up front cost will probably be no cheaper. Those two problems aside it was also a decent running machine.

You owe it to yourself to take a look at the new Massey 8480. This is one nice tractor. It would compare in size with the other brands you mentioned.

I know this does not answer your direct question, but the new AGCO or MF with the AGCO_Fendt CVT transmission makes All other transmissions to be put on the obsolecence list, period. If you put either competitor in the field with the CVT including the MF and AGCO non CVT_Powerstep you will get 5%-30% more work done in less time and less fuel useage with the CVT . THAT IS VAlUE. If you do not test this new transmission you will have done yourself a great disservice in your selection process. There are over 14,000 of these units in use today, no reported service problems and plans are to put them in many other applications. This is not a fad, it will be the future of tractor transmissions. Finally do not confuse this with the lower efficiency current deere or case _styre knock offs, this is the real thing - IT works.

thanks for ur info guys but i dont have an agco tractor dealer nearby i would have to travel half away across the state to get to one but thatnk anyway. But my newholland dealer sales gleaner combines but doesnt sale newhollands so that tells u a little bit about where i am from.

Only a few Fendts around here but I have heard some very good reports about their CVT transmissions. A question to tbran. Will a derivative of that transmission go into the AGCO _ Massey combines and whenIJ

As some of the other posts have pointed out, you would be doing yourself a serious disservice by not considering one of the AGCO offerings. When you look at what AGCO does worldwide, you must quickly conclude that this is one superbly managed company. If company stability is an important consideration, we have seen earnings reports come out in the last month and AGCO once again blew away the numbers - including outperforming the Fiat group (Case and New Holland). Now, looking at the tractor technology, the benefits of the only CVT on the market that works properly has been well documented, but also, the SISU diesel is the only balanced engine from the factory in a farm tractor. Bottom line: the future is extremely bright for AGCO, and they are adding North American dealers regularly.

i am in robeson county and the only one i know of is vause equipment in fayetteville and he only sales gleaner combines so the tractors would be out of question.

went to agco tractor school in 2004 and talked to engineer who had just returned from working with john deere on their IVT transmission that they buy from agco. we have used funk powershift last few years and funk is owmed by deere.
