Up here in Canada, a lot of farmers use "Settler". I don't know if it will work for the U.S., as taxes ...etc..are differant. They have a web site...www.settler.com You can check it out if it will intergrate for U.S.

We use PC Mars by softshell. It's an accounting software package developed for_used by the FBFM (Farm Business Farm Management). It moos and Oinks when it starts up, but is easy to use and keeps track of all the right stuff - and it generates reports that are very useful at tax time. This is the url: http:__showcase.netins.net_web_softshell_ BTW it's designed by a couple of farmers in Iowa.

Steve, Since 2000 we've used Quickbooks. I think the newer versions require yearly tax updates to do payroll. The version we run I can manually figure payroll taxes. I haven't run into any limitations. The only draw back I know of (according to the manual) is if you close out a year you can't access the data. If you don't close it then you could accidently change something and change everything from that point. If you have only yourself entering data you probably won't have that problem. Our accountant gave us some help with the account names, for the money I'm satisfied. Good luck!

I use Farm Business Systems out of Aledo Illinois. They have an accounting system that can be integrated with any one of their production modules. You can download a trial copy off of their web site at fbssystems.com. good luck

I have been using FarmTrack by Farmworks for my field records. It integrates with their Farm Funds module for accounting, but I haven't gone that far yet. I use their TracMate software with my Compaq Pocket PC and it works well. Their multi-layer mapping and livestock modules also integrate into it. If you are wanting an integrated system for field records, accounting, GPS, etc. it looks good. I have been VERY pleased with the company and support. I'm just not sure how much time I am willing to put into it. Go to www.farmworks.com and look around. Drop me a line at n9gik@arrl.net if I can help.

For a simple, user friendly program you might try farm files software. Here is a link http:__www.farmfiles.com Happens to be developed by my little bro.
