Steve Irwins (the croc hunter ) Aussie wild life park is north of gold coast not exactly sure where . hopefully the beach wont be to cold. Check out gold coast on internet. He'll probaly find a pub or two. Try and see the barrier reef coral etc. Cairns is way up north but flights are cheap nice up there. There's a good pub at a town called Rockhampton owned by one of our country singers lee Kernaghan that has a lot of entertainment and its suppose to be Australia's Cattle Capital in case he needs to see some aussie country life. Heaps of crappy theme parks (well thats what i think of them ) around gold coast. bye pengs 5

Sounds like he can look after himself OK, Tom. Have made it to Big Sandy myself. The Gold Coast is full of retirees but as Peng5 says, if the water is not too cold the young bloke will probably lay eyes on plenty of S, VS and M bikinis which they tell me are quite prevalent up there, particularly if the word is around that there are a few imported, fit young bucks around. D--n! I was born 50 years too late. Don't tell my wife I said that! She would die laughing! Cheers.

tbeck,I live a short distance (about 90miles) from the Gold Coast and one way to describe is to think it as the Honalulu of Australia. That is that it is set up for tourists and so there is a huge amount of things to do and see depending on what you like. The Croc hunter's zoo is a couple of hours drive north. It is winter here now so the water will be a little cooler but not cold. Gold Coast winter is still warm as a rule (sub tropics).By the way the legal drinking age for beer and such is 18 here.Google Gold Coast and you will get a good range on what is on offer
