Combines off topic looking into buying magnum tractor

Never heard of any transmission problems with any of them. I have only seen one transmission problem that arose from the operator using the powershift as a jake brake. He twisted off the input shaft at the back of the engine. Sheer abuse.

on the early serial numbered mx magnums, some remote issues with the shift solenoids not working properly causing trans. clutch packs failures. the solenoid valves sticking and too many clutch packs engaged during shifting. the earlier magnums were all reliable tractors.

What about the early STX 4wd tractorsIJ I have an early one and I have had dealer look at it several times because of irratic take off when placed in gear. Sometimes baby but smooth or times feels like you side stepped a clutch. What do you think the problem isIJ I know we have changed a solenoid pack on the front of tranny, but really did not fix it and now I know it is out of warrantee.
