Combines Oil Cooler Rad

Just finished doing the exact thing that you are talking about. We started out by taking off the outside cover door to open things up. Next we removed the plastic air box which is mounted above the rad. The round corner tin and the piece under it have to come off to be able to remove the oil cooler. It looks like a lot more work than it really is. After the oil cooler was out, we power washed it up and took it into a rad shop where they were able to resolder one of the joints at the bottom. I too question the problem of the cracked joint as to whether this is a common problem or just a freak occurance.

I have replaced it on both of my 23's. Easiest and quickest thing to do is take a small adj. wrench, and bend up a little piece of the tinwork so the radiator will raise up high enough to come out. It is about a 30 minute jobe. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the responses!! We pulled the oil cooler rad out and found three pin holes on the bottom of the rad. Is it better to fix the rad or replace with a new radIJ If you have fixed the rad, have they run goodIJIJIJ Has anyone talked to Case about warrenty as a 2002 2388 - 500 hour machine which has always been sheded, should have this problem this soon I figure.
