Your oil should have an S-3 classification. This will provide lubrication for the turbo.

tstars link explains a lot. I personaly would never use an oil with a lower classification, than what my owners manual is calling for. In my personnal vehicles I use synthetic oil only. They cover a wider temperature range than mineral oils do, last longer and create the necessary oil film much quicker at start up. I run the oil at least twice as long as I would a mineral oil. Gernerally you can tell when an engine oil is at the end of its life. It gets very black and the engine burns it, because it has no lubricating capacity anymore.
